About
Practical experience, careful thinking, and a genuine interest in making things work better.
I’m a writer, editor, and systems/documentation specialist with more than thirty years of experience working with information, processes, and people.
My background spans publishing and biosciences research—two fields that have little in common on the surface, but both taught me to pay close attention, ask good questions, work carefully with complex information, and communicate clearly.
Over the years, I’ve worked on everything from substantive writing and editing to research, data, documentation, and the practical systems that support day-to-day work. I’ve often found myself drawn to the places where something isn’t quite working: information is scattered, a process exists mostly in someone’s head, responsibilities aren’t clear, or a team is spending too much time working around an inefficient system.
I like figuring out what’s getting in the way and finding a better way to do it.
The systems, documentation, and writing I create are meant to serve the people who use them—to make work clearer, more manageable, and easier to sustain.
That might mean documenting a process, organizing a messy collection of records, building a useful spreadsheet, improving a workflow, writing something that needs to be both accurate and readable, or simply taking an administrative task off someone’s plate.
I bring a combination of careful attention to detail and a practical understanding of how work actually gets done. My goal is not to add complexity, but to create useful structure where it is needed and make good work easier to carry forward.
